Business tenants in Southampton docks told to boil drinking water after E.coli alert

BUSINESS tenants in Southampton docks are being advised to boil their drinking water after a spike in E.coli, which can cause stomach cramps and vomiting.

The Ocean Village and Nearby Residents Facebook page has posted a message from the National Oceanography Centre in European Way.

It says: “We have been advised by ABP that there is a water issue in Eastern Docks relating to high levels of E.coli and bacteria.

“They are working with contractors to treat the issue immediately and we are working with our supplier to do the same.

“In the meantime please do not drink tap water unless it has been boiled. Use of toilets and facilities is unaffected. A further communication will be sent in due course.”
